4. Sewerage Projects at Urban Growth Centres within PMRDA
Administrative approval of ₹300 crore has been accorded for implementation of sewerage projects at various urban growth centres within PMRDA, vide PMRDA General Body Resolution dated 24/09/2024 (Resolution No. 11/9).
Based on population density, villages with populations ranging from 1 lakh to 5 lakh have been grouped into 13 clusters across 5 talukas, covering 27 villages. The details of the projects are as under:
· Mulshi Taluka: Sewerage projects for 6 villages in 3 clusters – ₹304.00 crore
· Haveli Taluka: Sewerage projects for 8 villages in 5 clusters – ₹407.95 crore
· Shirur Taluka: Sewerage projects for 4 villages in 4 clusters – ₹312.70 crore
· Khed Taluka: Sewerage projects for 7 villages in 3 clusters – ₹180.13 crore
· Maval Taluka: Sewerage projects for 2 villages in 1 cluster – ₹4.30 crore
The total project cost is ₹1,209.08 crore. The proposal was placed before the Authority Meeting on 11/12/2024 for approval.
The proposed project will cover the following areas
- Chakan and surrounding villages
- Alandi and surrounding villages
- Wagholi, Kesnand and surrounding villages
- Bhugaon, Bhukum and surrounding villages
- Khed, Rajgurunagar and surrounding villages
- Shikrapur and surrounding villages
- Uruli Kanchan and surrounding villages
- Khed Shivapur, Nasrapur and surrounding villages
To ensure effective planning, the Authority is in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare detailed project reports for these villages, covering sewerage infrastructure.
