Police Housing

For the Man-Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Pune Metro Line-3 project, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) received 4.17 hectares of land from the State Government’s Viability Gap Funding (VGF) contribution. In exchange, PMRDA is undertaking redevelopment projects for the Police Department at Aundh and Bavdhan.
Phase–1: Redevelopment Project at Bavdhan
In the first phase, a residential complex comprising 36 residential units, including 14 shop units, has been constructed on Survey No. 6 (part) at Bavdhan for the Pune Rural Police Department.

Project Status:
- 100% physical completion
- 93% financial completion
- Total project cost: Rs.11.98 crore (including GST)
Phase–2: Redevelopment Project at Aundh
In the second phase, construction is underway at CTS Nos. 1446, 1447 and 1448 at Aundh for the Pune Rural Police and Wireless Communication System, Maharashtra State, Pune Division. The project includes 357 residential flats, a welfare complex, barrack, a multipurpose hall, and 10 shop units.

- 18% physical completion
- 50% financial completion
- Total project cost: Rs.113.19 crore (including GST)
Background of the Land Transfer
As per Government Resolution (GR) dated February 9, 2018, PMRDA is executing Pune Metro Line-3 under Public-Private Partnership (PPP). To raise the State Government’s 20% VGF share (₹1,126 Crores), the following land parcels were permanently allocated to PMRDA on August 27, 2019:
- 4.17 hectares (Police Department, Aundh)
- 7.14 hectares (Dairy Department)
- 10.60 hectares (Government Polytechnic, Pune)
As per Government Memorandum dated January 20, 2025, final approval for land transfer was granted.
On June 3, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pune Rural Police, Wireless Police Department and PMRDA, agreeing that PMRDA would undertake the redevelopment of 30,557.61 Sqm of land at its own cost (₹110 Crores + GST).
Demolition & Redevelopment Details
The existing 14,844 Sqm old structures on 4.17 hectares of land, including 12 buildings (344 1RK units), 20 shops and Purandar Hall, were demolished for the project.

- Aundh Redevelopment (Phase 2): 48% Physical Completion, 35% Financial Completion

Bavdhan Redevelopment Project (Phase 1)
The first phase of the redevelopment project includes the construction of a residential complex with 36 housing units and 14 commercial shops for the Pune Rural Police Department at Survey No. 6, Bavdhan.
