2. Pavana River Improvement Project
Pavana River Improvement Project in Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority Area

(River length within PMRDA area: 35 km)

The Pavana River Improvement Project is proposed to be submitted for approval to the NRCD under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, through the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra. Funding for pollution control works will be shared between the Central and State Governments in a 60:40 capital cost ratio.

Administrative approval for the project has been granted vide PMRDA Development Authority Resolution dated 24/09/2024 (Resolution No. 11/10). As per the directions of the Hon. Chief Secretary dated 22/05/2025, a combined DPR covering the entire river stretch in PCMC and PMRDA areas has been prepared and submitted by PCMC on 24/06/2025.

The process for appointment of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) has been completed, and M/s Tandon Urban Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed. Tenders for appointment of contractors for execution of the project have been published.
