3. Mula–Mutha River Improvement Project
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Pune, has undertaken the Mula-Mutha River Improvement Project to prevent pollution and rejuvenate the Mula-Mutha River.
(River length within PMRDA area: 107 km)
In order to control river pollution and rejuvenate rivers within the PMRDA area, river improvement projects for the Indrayani, Pavana, and Mula–Mutha Rivers have been undertaken. These projects are proposed to be funded by the NRCD under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, along with the State Government, in a 60:40 cost-sharing ratio.
For the Mula–Mutha River Improvement Project, the process for appointment of a consultant for preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Report and Detailed Project Report (DPR) is in progress. The estimated project cost for pollution control measures is approximately ₹977 crore.
